Yvonne-Beatrice Boehler
Professor Yvonne-Beatrice Boehler, MD, MBA is a physician and health economist by background. She graduated from medical school at the University of Cologne, Germany and received her MBA from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. After receiving her full medical license, she joined the pharmaceutical industry (Gruenenthal, Aachen, Germany) in the department of clinical drug safety. After a few years, she moved to the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) in Cologne, Germany, where she worked for several years as a scientific supervisor in the drug assessment department. Since 2014 she is full professor for pharmamanagement at the TH Koeln, University of Applied Sciences, Cologne, Germany. Her teaching and research areas include
- "Behavioural Health Economics" and "Health Systems Research", "Bounded Rationality" and "Game Theory" in the health and pharmacoeconomic context
- Healthcare systems, reimbursement, interventions "Clinical drug development and the value chain"
- Evidence-based drug therapy, market access & HTA ([biometric] methods), health system research and health economics, clinical study design, patient involvement
She has published extensively in these fields and served as a speaker on numerous international conferences. She has been Vice Dean for Science and Knowledge Transfer at her faculty and is current member of the Commission for Responsibility in Science at her university.
